When she’s not photographing Jess (her dog and sidekick), Jackie is putting her 20+ years of photographic experience to projects as varied as refugee housing, HIV/AIDS, street and orphaned children, and township entrepreneurs like Monwabisi (best slap chips in Langa). She recently completed a very personal film that despite getting rave reviews and premiering at the Encounters International Documentary Film Festival she prefers not to talk about, but we think it’s pretty cool. She may have been born in the UK but her frequent use of the word “howzit” makes her almost from Joburg. Her extensive travels throughout Africa have earned her mad respect, only slightly tainted by her refusal to use capital letters. She may have slept through Mia’s thirtieth birthday party, but that doesn’t make her (or the party) any less epic!
